Our Team

Dr. Judy Liao is the owner of LA Vision Optometry and a Southern California native. She is a comprehensive optometrist specializing in dry eye treatment and diagnosis and management of eye infections and diseases. Having benefited immensely from having had the LASIK procedure herself, her other interests in practice also include LASIK co-management and specialty contact lens fitting for myopia control.

Dr. Liao received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and her Optometry Doctorate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She completed an Ocular Disease and Primary Care residency program at Sepulveda Veteran Affairs Ambulatory Care Center in 2002. She is an advocate of the advancement of the optometry profession and keeps at the forefront of this field by being a current Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry as well as an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the Los Angeles Country Optometric Society.

Dr. Liao has many joys of her life (in no particular order as it shifts depending on the day): her husband, two children, three dogs, intuitive cooking, Muay Thai training, Netflix binge-watching, and spontaneous traveling. 

Dr. Tina Patel has lived in the Southern California area for over 25 years. She completed her undergraduate studies and received a Bachelors of Science degree at UC Riverside. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry Degree in 2007 at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Dr. Patel  has been practicing primary care optometry in the past several years and prides herself on seeing and examining patients of all ages, even as young as age one. She performs comprehensive eye exams as well as co-manages with ophthalmologists for ocular surgeries such as cataract and LASIK. Over the last few years, Dr. Patel has focused more of her practice of vision care on children, that in turn, help reduce their vision related problems in school. Dr Patel is able to communicate with her patients in Spanish and her native language Gujarati, aside from English.

In her spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her family and friends and wishes to see as much of the world and visit as many Disneyland parks as she can. 

Dr. Eric Zhang received his Optometry Doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry. He then completed an Ocular Disease and Primary Care residency program at the Veteran Affairs Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center where he worked alongside ophthalmologists and optometrists to manage and treat a wide variety of eye conditions.

Dr. Zhang has extensive knowledge and clinical training in managing primary care, ocular disease, and cataract and refractive surgery co-management. In addition to his commitment to providing primary care at LA Vision Optometry, Dr. Zhang continues to work closely with ophthalmology in the treatment and management of more ocular conditions.

Dr. Zhang lives with his wife, who is also an optometrist. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and persuading his wife to become a foodie like himself.
